Minor in Mathematics
The requirements for a minor are two calculus courses, either Math 305 or CSC 210 (but not both) and three additional mathematics courses at least two of which are at the 500 level or above.
Certain other degree programs' requirements at Catholic University include two to four of the required six courses in the minor. Interested students in those concentrations should consider taking the additional mathematics courses needed to complete the minor.
Courses for students in other majors
For students in the natural sciences, engineering or economics (and for anyone with an interest in and aptitude for mathematics), the Department offers the sequence Mathematics 121, 122, 221 and 222 of calculus and differential equations.
For students in humanities or social-life science concentrations, the Department offers Mathematics 168 (Mathematics in the Modern World), 187 (Introduction to Mathematical Thought), 111-2 (Calculus for the Social and Life Sciences), and 114 (Probability and Statistics). Math 111 is a prerequisite for Math 112.
